Spiritual, Not Religious Quotes
Spiritual quotes are distinct from passages that are only
religious. Spirituality is truth-seeking, and has more to do
with universal values than the specific beliefs of religions.
Religious beliefs, and quotes, after all, include such gems as
"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" (Exodus 22:
18), and that wonderful passage in Joshua where God orders the
killings of women and children in Jericho. These hardly seem
enlightened in our time or any other.

Spiritual Quotes as Poetry
Often spiritual quotes take the form of poetry, as in this
classic poem from chapter 13 of Corinthians:
Love is patient and kind;
love is not jealous or boastful;
it is not arrogant or rude.
Love does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrong,
but rejoices in the right.
Love bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never ends; as for prophecies,
they will pass away; as for tongues,
they will cease; as for knowledge,
it will pass away.
